Our History
The Albuquerque Christian Children's Home (ACCH) was incorporated in 1966 through the dreams of the elders of University Church of Christ in downtown Albuquerque. In 1970, ACCH housed its first children in two brand new cottages. In 1988, the first ever ACCH Auction was held. The wishes of the founders and the tradition of the Auction still stand today for ACCH. The purpose of the this auction is to provide funding to continue caring for children coming from homes of abuse or neglect.
What to Expect at the ACCH Benefit Dinner & Auction
Fun, laughter, and warmth! The ACCH Benefit Dinner & Auction is hosted at the Embassy Suites in Albuquerque. When you come through the doors, you will be greeted with many smiling faces, such as staff members, volunteers, and even some of our former residents. You will walk into an elegant Christmas display! Full of the warmth and joy of the season, you will be able to peruse through silent auction items (fit for every type of person), enjoy a delicious three course meal, and get your blood flowing with the excitement of the live auction. There is also a time in the program to listen to the stories of those who inspire us most: our children. It is an exhilarating night filled with magic that you don’t want to miss!
ACCH Mission Statement & Statement of Faith
Albuquerque Christian Children's Home, a non-profit religious ministry, is dedicated to providing the very best physical, psychological and spiritual care for school-aged children who are neglected, abused, or in need of loving guidance. We care for these children without regard for their race, religion, culture, national origin, financial status, or social status. Our long-term residential care is provided through a family setting centered around Christian love, example and teaching. We strive to instill individual worth in each child while preparing them for responsible adulthood. Where possible, we work to reunite each child with his/her family.
We believe that God loved the world so much that He sent His one and only son, that those who believe in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3: 16
We believe that God and Jesus see children worthy of special attention and protection by God’s people and as such, are special neighbors that are deserving of our love.
